Project Information
Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Properties needed a central digital home for their development projects, alongside news, updates, and background about the property arm of the iwi. Previously, all content lived inside the main iwi website, and any new development required its own standalone build. This created duplicated cost, and a fragmented web experience.
The new website set out to bring everything under one roof. It also created the opportunity to establish a unified property brand presence.
I built the typographic system around Untitled Sans and Serif from Klim Type Foundry. They provided a reliable foundation for a design system that needs to support commercial, cultural, and community-focused content.
I took a unique approach to systemise brand colours through Tailwind CSS. Each project page generates its palette from a single tonal swatch, which allowed me to design flexible themed blocks and components. This keeps the overall brand consistent while giving each development its own subtle identity within the broader system.
